The Tübingen Faculty of Medicine and University Hospital are part of the University of Excellence Tübingen. They provide medical services at the highest level and cover the entire spectrum of modern medicine, research, teaching and clinical care.

The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tübingen invites applications for a

Full Professorship (W3) in Clinical Epidemiology and Applied Biometry (f/m/d)

in leading function, available by 1 April 2027 and to be filled as a civil servant (“Beamtenstatus”).
The structural integration will be determined in the course of the refilling of this position.

The successful candidate will represent clinical epidemiology and applied biometry in research and teaching. Experience in the management and administration of a department is desirable. Competences in the biometric consulting for working groups across the entire spectrum of biomedical research, from basic research to health services research, are expected.

The ideal candidate has an internationally recognized scientific profile in the field of clinical epidemiology and applied biometry, characterized by the successful acquisition of structural third-party funding, publications in high-ranking journals and links to the research areas of the Faculty of Medicine. In particular, expertise and competencies in the statistical planning, supervision and evaluation of population studies and clinical studies are required. A particular focus should lie on translational clinical studies with innovative study designs. The development of innovative methods is desirable.

The dedicated participation in the development of new research projects and active involvement in collaborative projects within and outside the Faculty of Medicine are expected, e.g. in the context of Collaborative Research Centers and Research Groups, the German Centers for Health Research, the Center for Personalized Medicine, the prospective Center for Digital Health (ZDG) as well as the Clusters of Excellence at the University of Tübingen.

In the field of teaching, we expect extensive and outstandingly evaluated teaching experience and commitment, in particular with regard to innovative curricula in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine as well as active contributions to lectures and other teaching formats and under consideration of modern, practice-oriented teaching methods. The position has a teaching commitment of nine hours per week during the semester.

Required qualifications include postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship.
