We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Recruiting to lead and shape the talent acquisition function for a growing, mission-focused organization. This role will oversee the full recruiting lifecycle across technical and non-technical positions, establish scalable hiring practices, and enhance recruitment operations. The ideal candidate will partner closely with leadership, leverage analytics to drive informed decisions, and ensure an exceptional candidate experience. You will have the opportunity to influence hiring strategy, mentor recruiters and hiring managers, and contribute to building a diverse and high-performing team in a fully remote environment.
Accountabilities:
- Lead and manage full-cycle recruiting across technical and non-technical roles, including product, engineering, and user research positions.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement sourcing strategies that attract diverse, high-quality talent.
- Maintain and update key recruitment resources, including candidate sourcing guides, interview protocols, and evaluation frameworks.
- Monitor recruiting trends and implement best practices for candidate attraction, process efficiency, and compliance with employment regulations.
- Provide training, mentorship, and support to staff and hiring managers to promote consistent, high-quality recruiting practices.
- Design and refine processes to track, analyze, and report recruitment metrics, informing strategic decisions and continuous improvement.
- Ensure a seamless candidate-to-employee experience in collaboration with People Operations.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in recruitment operations, talent acquisition, and analytics.
- Proven success recruiting for diverse technical and non-technical positions.
- Strong relationship-building skills with candidates and internal stakeholders.
- Familiarity with remote and distributed team hiring.
- Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment regulations.
- Expertise with applicant tracking systems (e.g., Greenhouse) and candidate sourcing platforms (e.g., LinkedIn Recruiter).
- Ability to leverage recruiting analytics to measure performance and drive improvements.
- Capacity to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentorship skills.
- Passion for public service and mission-driven work.
- Flexibility to travel occasionally for work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with AI-powered recruiting tools to streamline processes, reduce bias, and enhance candidate experience.
- Background in civic tech or government-related hiring.
