Overview

The Department of Finance at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management invites applications for a post-doctoral fellow position with a special focus on financial intermediation and (debt) capital markets. The start date is flexible but no later than fall 2025.

The Position

Postdoctoral Fellowship in Finance, Center for European Transformation. The position is funded by the newly created Centre for European Transformation and has a duration of two years. The fellow will specialize in financial intermediation and (debt) capital markets and will work with a team of researchers within the center. The objective is to strengthen research and provide an opportunity for researchers holding a doctoral degree to advance their academic qualifications. The position has no teaching requirements but includes research-related tasks within the center (e.g., center management, policy reports, presentations, grant applications).

Responsibilities

Contribute to high-quality research in financial intermediation and (debt) capital markets; collaborate with a research team; support policy-related reporting and research infrastructure; participate in grant applications and center activities.

Qualifications

Qualification requirements

PhD degree in finance or economics from US or Western European business schools with expertise in machine learning / data science; prior experience in the analysis of unstructured data (e.g., NLP) is a plus. Candidates will be evaluated on scientific work, interest in the topic, and ability to conduct research as part of a team. Strong research capabilities and a record of aiming for publications in top finance journals are desired.
