Research Position – Postdoctoral Scientist (m/f/d): Preclinical Metabolomics

Location: Dortmund, Germany

Responsibilities

• Study the development and metabolism of lymph nodes through melanoma metastasis
• Perform biochemical and histopathological characterization of tumor cells in tissues using chemical and fluorescence staining
• Handle in vivo and in vitro models to test research hypotheses and refine study designs
• Study small‑molecule metabolite alterations of tumorous material by mass‑spectrometry imaging
• Quantify corresponding metabolites using liquid chromatography mass spectrometry
• Analyze sequencing and microscopy data
• Analyze mass‑spectrometry data

Qualifications

• PhD in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Biochemistry or related subjects
• Good understanding of tools such as cell cultures, histopathology, microscopy, and/or chromatography
• Hands‑on experience with mass spectrometers is a plus
• Excellent English communication and writing skills
• Basic understanding of cancer biology is preferable
