This role provides an exciting opportunity to shape the strategic direction of mortgage solutions within a dynamic and evolving property technology environment. The Principal, Product Strategy will lead initiatives to optimize capital allocation, develop actionable market insights, and support cross-functional teams in aligning resources with strategic priorities. You will work closely with product, finance, marketing, and executive teams to analyze market trends, assess competitive positioning, and identify growth opportunities. This position demands strong analytical skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the organization. It offers significant impact on product strategy, business outcomes, and market positioning within the mortgage solutions landscape.
Accountabilities
- Lead and coordinate the capital allocation (Playbook) process, ensuring initiatives align with strategic goals and performance metrics.
- Partner with Finance, Product, and Solution Owners to evaluate business cases, prioritize initiatives, and support decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks to assess strategic investments and resource allocation.
- Build and manage competitive and market intelligence programs, providing actionable insights for product strategy, go-to-market planning, and sales enablement.
- Conduct market research, track trends, regulatory shifts, and customer needs, creating competitor profiles, SWOT analyses, and benchmarking reports.
- Identify white space opportunities, evaluate market entry strategies, and support Total Addressable Market (TAM) assessments.
- Collaborate across Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance teams to prepare strategic presentations, business reviews, and planning sessions.
- Facilitate industry partnerships, supporting research, strategy alignment, and relationship insights.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Strategy, or a related field; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in product strategy, business analysis, or strategic planning, ideally in mortgage, financial services, information services, or technology sectors.
- Proven experience supporting capital planning, investment prioritization, or strategic resource allocation processes.
- Strong understanding of the mortgage industry ecosystem, including lenders, GSEs, fintech players, and B2B service providers.
- Exceptional analytical and research skills, with proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a matrixed environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
