This role is perfect for a technically skilled accounting professional who enjoys bridging the gap between finance and product development. As a Product Accounting Manager, you will help shape accounting software solutions by researching complex technical issues, collaborating with product teams, and ensuring accurate financial functionality. You’ll be a key resource in guiding product design and execution with a strong focus on process improvements. The role combines hands-on accounting expertise with cross-functional collaboration, providing opportunities to influence product outcomes, mentor colleagues, and engage with customers. You will work closely with product managers, developers, QA, and other stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet both regulatory standards and user needs.

Accountabilities

• Serve as the primary accounting expert within the product team, deploying new functionality and resolving software issues.
• Research relevant accounting guidance and translate technical concepts for cross-functional teams without accounting backgrounds.
• Draft software requirements and develop example scenarios for development and testing purposes.
• Assist with internal accounting questions from implementation, customer success, marketing, and sales teams.
• Participate in customer calls to explain new features and enhancements, contributing to customer knowledge resources.
• Review publications and webinars from regulatory authorities and accounting firms, summarizing insights for leadership.
• Test new accounting-related software features and track resolution of any bugs or errors.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in audit or assurance at a Big 4 firm and/or corporate accounting experience, preferably at manager level.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP; experience with IFRS and GASB is a plus.
• Competence in technical accounting research and documentation.
• Ability to communicate complex accounting concepts effectively to diverse audiences.

Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including product managers, analysts, developers, and QA personnel.
