Collins Aerospace in Heidelberg supplies integrated navigation and communications systems for a wide range of military applications and is a global leader in satellite reaction wheel technology.
Responsibilities
Effective RMTS team member – Reliability, Maintainability, Testability and Safety. Collaboration with multiple international engineering domains, e.g. Hardware, Software and Test Equipment. Main focus on:
Safety Engineering:
- Responsible for providing evidence that the system and the development process meet airworthiness design standards
- Reviews, contributes, and approves subsystem development planning
- Ensures completeness of the Safety Program Plan and that overall development methods align with the objectives of the applicable safety assessment process
- Performs the required Safety Analyses (SFHA, PSSA, SSA) in accordance with certification authority guidance, industry standard recommended practices and company processes
Reliability Engineering:
- Performing reliability predictions and analysis based on industry standards and historical data
- Responsible for preparation of failure mode effects and criticality analysis (FMECA) and Failure Catalogue on LRU, module and functional level
- Working with design engineers to incorporate reliability requirements into product designs
- Presenting reliability findings to management and customers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Eng., Computer Eng., Systems Engineering, Communications Eng., Aerospace Eng. or equivalent
- NATO-citizenship due to work on classified projects; an existing security clearance would be of advantage
- Enhanced knowledge about aerospace equipment / Line Replaceable Units
- Collaboration with multiple engineering domains, e.g. Hardware, Software and Test Equipment Team
- Basic understanding of circuit diagram analysis for FMECA generation
- Experienced in schematics design
- Experienced in Safety Analysis on LRU and/or platform systems level
- Experience in problem solving within given boundary conditions
- Experienced in requirement capturing
- Application of DO254 / DO178B/C / ARP4754 standards
- Interpersonal quality (teamplayer)
- Mandatory: English B2+/C at minimum; optional: German B2 or better
Experience with the following tools:
- DOORS and/or JAMA
- Jira
- ALM
- MS Office suite
- Tortoise SVN
- PTC Windchill
- Supporting knowledge/experience: Familiar with typical avionic signal standards
- MIL-Bus 1553, ARINC 429, RS232, Ethernet
- Familiar with typical computer signal standards
- Ethernet, PCIe, SATA, IIC
