Role

We are looking for a passionate and self-driven Area Sales Executive to join our dynamic Sales Team. In this role, you will thrive autonomously and collaborate with multiple departments within the company. With your experience in area sales, preferably within the Builders Merchant sector you will demonstrate excellent judgment, negotiation skills, and the ability to build strong customer rapport in the Leinster and Munster region. You will also be responsible for managing your allocated region and driving new business opportunities.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Seek and identify new sales growth opportunities, develop sales and stock offers, and actively search for new business within your region
  • Demonstrate strict self-planning and organisational skills to manage your day-to-day activities. This includes daily and monthly reporting, managing your schedule effectively via Outlook, and using a CRM system to track sales progress
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and share insights, ideas, and experiences to train and motivate colleagues, ensuring a well-informed sales team
  • Take full responsibility for managing the allocated region, driving sales growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Make daily face-to-face visits to clients, developing relationships and representing the company’s products to build brand awareness and trust
  • Identify, present, and close sales opportunities with retailers, delivering tailored solutions that meet their needs
  • Consistently deliver a high level of customer service, addressing customer issues promptly and communicating effectively to resolve any concerns
  • Develop and maintain long-term, strong relationships with clients, becoming their trusted point of contact for all sales and service needs

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in area sales, particularly within the Builders Merchant sector an advantage
  • Must be based in Leinster or Munster
  • Full clean B driving licence
  • Excellent negotiation skills and closing skills with a proven track record of achieving sales target
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, ability to get on with people essential
  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills
