Your Responsibilities

  • Serve as the central contact for export control, customs and compliance at management level.
  • Develop and implement structures and processes based on legal requirements (AWV, EU Dual-Use Regulation, EU law) and internal group guidelines.
  • Advise the management and specialist departments as the first point of contact for all export control and compliance issues.
  • In collaboration with the CFO and Supply Chain Manager, be responsible for operational day-to-day business in export control and customs.
  • Drive the strategic development of our customs area and identify opportunities to optimize processes, systems, and structures.
  • Coordinate import and export processes, review trade and customs documents and ensure quality assurance.
  • Manage permit administration from application submission and deadline tracking to managing conditions (DE/EU/US).
  • Work closely with internal departments and external authorities (e.g. BAFA).
  • Actively support official audits from preparation to follow-up.
  • Monitor legal developments in foreign trade and weapons law and implement new requirements in a practical manner.
  • Design and deliver training on export control, customs and weapons law for various audiences.
  • Report directly to the person responsible for exports and to the CFO.

Your Profile

  • Completed degree in law, business administration, industrial engineering, international business, customs law or a comparable qualification.
  • Several years of relevant experience (at least 810 years) in export control, customs, and compliance management, preferably in an international industrial setting.
  • Profound understanding of foreign trade regulations (AWG/AWV, EU Dual-Use Regulation, Union Customs Code) as well as knowledge of US regulations (ITAR, EAR).
  • Strong experience in setting up and applying compliance management systems (e.g. IDW PS 980, ISO 37301).
  • Confident handling of SAP (MM/SD module) and common MS Office tools.
  • Fluent German (C2) and very good English skills (C1).
