Enterprise Sales Lead (German-Speaking) – Smart Grid Software – DACH

A fast-growing software provider in the energy and utilities sector is expanding its commercial team. As Enterprise Sales Lead, you will own and drive a small number of strategic, high-value commercial opportunities with distribution operators and key partners.

You’ll lead complex, long-cycle deals – including pilots, tenders, and multi-stakeholder negotiations – and work closely with product, delivery, and executive teams to ensure deals are commercially sound, scalable, and strategically aligned. This role reports directly to the Chief Commercial Officer and offers significant visibility and impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead complex enterprise opportunities from qualification through contract signature
  • Design and execute strategies for pilots, tenders, framework agreements, and large roll‑outs
  • Navigate public procurement processes and regulated environments
  • Build and maintain credibility with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives, grid planners, and procurement teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Presales, Delivery, and Executive teams to ensure smooth deal execution
  • Provide structured market and customer insights to inform product strategy and go-to-market planning
  • Ensure deals balance short-term success with long-term scalability and strategic alignment

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen
  • Comfortable operating in complex, regulated, and multi-stakeholder environments
  • Able to build credibility quickly with senior executives
  • Collaborative, pragmatic, and skilled at leading cross-functional teams
  • Motivated by long-cycle, high-impact deals rather than transactional sales

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading complex enterprise or strategic commercial deals
  • Familiarity with energy, utilities, infrastructure, or industrial software markets is highly desirable
  • Experience selling to public or semi-public organisations, ideally in regulated industries
  • Strong ability to bridge technical and commercial discussions
  • Fluent in German and English (written and spoken) is essential; additional European languages a plus
