I am working with a client who is an international, mid‑sized technology company specialising in advanced laser systems for research, biotechnology, and precision measurement . They are known for their innovation, collaborative culture, and commitment to high‑quality engineering. Their customers include leading industrial organisations and globally recognised research institutions.

My client is seeking a dedicated and motivated R&D Engineer in Nonlinear Optics to join their research and development team . This role is ideal for someone who enjoys developing innovative technologies and applying expertise in optics and laser physics in a dynamic environment.

Location: Munich
Length: 6 Months+
Rate: Up to €100 p/h

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test complex laser systems for scientific and industrial applications
• Develop and qualify prototypes , contributing to product designs based on customer requirements
• Conduct long‑term performance and reliability testing
• Collaborate with colleagues in design, electronics, and software to solve technical challenges
• Support production teams during the transfer of new products into manufacturing
• Maintain and optimise existing products to ensure continuous quality improvement
• Identify and integrate new technologies and suppliers

Your Profile

• Master's degree or higher in physics, optics, photonics, or related fields ; PhD or relevant professional experience preferred
• Practical experience in optics and laser physics , ideally in nonlinear optics or diode laser development
• Knowledge in at least one of the following: mechanical design, electrical engineering, or programming (Python, C++)
• Excellent communication skills in English and German
