Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Head of Sales Europe to lead our market expansion and drive revenue growth across the European region. This strategic leadership role is pivotal for a non-standard automation manufacturer aiming to deepen its penetration within the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned sales leader with a proven track record in the industrial automation sector, specifically engaging with automotive OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sales Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive European sales strategy aligned with business objectives to drive revenue growth and market penetration within the automotive industry (OEM, Tier 1, Tier 2).
  • Team Management & Development: Lead, mentor, and motivate the European sales and field application engineering team. Foster a high-performance culture through hands‑on coaching, deal reviews, and continuous training. Build and scale the team by hiring, onboarding, and training Account Executives and Sales Development Representatives.
  • Revenue Growth & Account Management: Be accountable for achieving and exceeding regional sales targets. Personally manage and support the team in strategic, high‑stakes deals with key automotive accounts, from lead generation to close. Oversee both direct account management and channel sales strategies to maximize market reach.
  • Market Analysis & Expansion: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics within the European industrial automation and automotive sectors. Utilize these insights to identify new business opportunities and inform product development.
  • Sales Operations & Forecasting: Implement scalable sales processes, playbooks, and CRM workflows. Own sales metrics, pipeline forecasts, and growth plans, providing accurate quarterly and annual revenue forecasts to the leadership team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience in B2B sales within the industrial automation, capital equipment, or related technical manufacturing sector.
  • Proven track record in a sales leadership role, with demonstrated success in scaling revenue and managing team quotas, ideally exceeding $10M ARR.
  • Deep knowledge and established network within the European automotive industry , including direct experience working with OEMs, Tier 1, and Tier 2 suppliers.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with experience in building, managing, and developing high-performing international sales teams.
  • Expertise in managing complex, long-cycle sales and experience with large deal sizes.
  • Fluent in English is mandatory; proficiency in German or other European languages is a significant advantage.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Europe as required.
