Position: (Senior) Human Resources Generalist (M/F/D)

Location: Berlin or Meiningen. Department: Human Resources.

Key Responsibilities

• Independently manage and continuously develop operational HR activities across the entire employee lifecycle.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on all HR‑related matters.
• Prepare, conduct, and follow up on employee meetings, including performance reviews and development discussions.
• Manage the full recruiting and onboarding process, including job postings, applicant management, interviews, contract preparation, references, and HR documentation.
• Foster a constructive and trust‑based collaboration with local employee representative bodies in compliance with the German Works Constitution Act (BetrVG).
• Provide HR support to multiple business units, including those subject to collective bargaining agreements and co‑determination.
• Support the implementation, optimization, and harmonization of HR processes at local, regional, and global levels.
• Act as a key interface between HR and payroll, working closely with payroll accounting to ensure accurate and compliant processing.
• Contribute to personnel development initiatives, such as training programs, annual reviews, target agreements, and succession planning.
• Plan, organize, and execute HR projects and initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Successfully completed degree with a focus on Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or equivalent, or alternatively a completed commercial apprenticeship with relevant HR qualifications.
• At least 5 years of operational experience in the HR department of an international company.
• Solid knowledge of German labor law and practical experience collaborating with employee representatives under the Works Constitution Act.
• Experience in a collectively bargained environment, ideally within the metal and electrical industries.
• Confident handling of all standard HR processes across the employee life cycle.
• Team‑oriented, communicative, trustworthy personality with strong advisory skills.
• Independent, structured, and solution‑oriented working style.
• Excellent MS Office skills and experience with HR systems (ideally Workday).
• Openness to digital innovations, AI‑based tools, and process automation.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Germany.

Aufgaben und Verantwortlichkeiten

• Eigenverantwortliche Durchführung und kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung der operativen Personalarbeit entlang des gesamten Employee Life Cycle.
• Beratung und aktive Unterstützung von Mitarbeitenden und Führungskräften in allen personalwirtschaftlichen Fragestellungen.
• Vorbereitung, Durchführung und Begleitung von Personalgesprächen sowie Leistungsbeurteilungen.
• Steuerung des gesamten Recruiting‑ und Onboarding‑Prozesses (Erstellung von Stellenanzeigen, Bewerbermanagement, Durchführung von Interviews, Vertrags‑ und Zeugniserstellung sowie HR‑Dokumentation).
• Vertrauensvolle und konstruktive Zusammenarbeit mit lokalen Arbeitnehmervertretungsgremien gemäß Betriebsverfassungsgesetz.
• Betreuung unterschiedlicher Unternehmensbereiche, teilweise im tarifgebundenen und mitbestimmungspflichtigen Umfeld.
• Unterstützung bei der Implementierung und Optimierung von HR‑Prozessen auf lokaler, regionaler und globaler Ebene.
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Entgeltabrechnung sowie Funktion als Schnittstelle zwischen HR und Gehaltsabrechnung.
• Mitwirkung bei Personalentwicklungsmaßnahmen (z. B. Trainings, Jahresgespräche, Zielvereinbarungen, Nachfolgeplanung).
• Planung, Organisation und Umsetzung von HR‑Projekten.

Erforderliche Kenntnisse, Fähigkeiten und Erfahrungen

• Erfolgreich abgeschlossenes Studium mit Schwerpunkt Personal, Wirtschafts‑ oder Sozialwissenschaften, alternativ abgeschlossene kaufmännische Ausbildung mit einschlägiger HR‑Weiterbildung.
• Mindestens 5‑jährige operative Erfahrung im HR‑Bereich eines internationalen Unternehmens.
• Fundierte Kenntnisse im deutschen Arbeitsrecht sowie praktische Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Arbeitnehmervertretungen nach dem Betriebsverfassungsgesetz.
• Erfahrung im tarifgebundenen Umfeld, idealerweise im Bereich der Metall‑ und Elektroindustrie.
• Sicherer Umgang mit allen gängigen HR‑Prozessen entlang des Employee Life Cycle.
• Teamorientierte, kommunikationsstarke und vertrauenswürdige Persönlichkeit mit hoher Beratungskompetenz.
• Selbstständige, strukturierte und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise.
• Sehr gute MS‑Office‑Kenntnisse sowie Erfahrung mit HR‑Systemen (idealerweise Workday).
• Offenheit für digitale Innovationen, KI‑gestützte Anwendungen und Prozessautomatisierung.
• Sehr gute Deutsch‑ und Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.
• Bereitschaft zu gelegentlichen nationalen Dienstreisen.
