GemPool is hiring a Cost Manager on behalf of a leading international construction consultancy delivering multiple data centre projects across Europe. This role will be embedded with one of Europe’s largest data centre providers, working full-time on a high-value project in Amsterdam. The successful candidate will take a client-facing leadership role, managing cost control and guiding a small project team. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the top level of data centre construction with strong long-term career potential. Responsibilities:Deliver full cost management services for a multimillion-euro, 90MW hyperscale data centre project.Serve as the primary on-site contact for the client, representing the consultancy’s interests.Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 3+ junior quantity surveyors.Oversee budgeting, cost planning, procurement support, and contract administration.Coordinate on-site meetings and ensure alignment with client requirements and project deadlines.Prepare timely, accurate financial reports and updates for stakeholders.Provide support during tender processes and assist with contract negotiations.Ensure compliance with relevant local and international construction standards. Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field (Chartered status preferred, ideally RICS).Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cost consultancy or client-side quantity surveying.Demonstrated experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects - minimum 5 years.Ability to lead project teams and work independently.Strong interpersonal and professional communication skills.Comfortable managing client expectations and working in high-pressure environments.
