Automotive Delivery Manager

Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

The Role:

The Delivery Manager is responsible for leading customer facing delivery for Tata Technologies’ automotive engagements in Germany, initially focused on a key automotive customer.

The role represents Tata Technologies on the ground with a strong emphasis on transparency, credibility, and long-term partnership. The Delivery Manager is expected to understand customer needs deeply, communicate honestly about progress and risks, and act in the best interest of the customer, the project, and Tata Technologies.

Where challenges cannot be resolved locally, the role is expected to elevate early and constructively within Tata Technologies, navigating a complex, global stakeholder environment to secure timely decisions and support.

The position reports directly to European Automotive leadership and serves as the primary delivery representative in Germany. As Tata Technologies’ footprint grows, the role is expected to evolve in scope and responsibility.

Area of Responsibility

• Acts as the primary delivery contact in Germany
• Builds trust through honest, clear, and consistent communication
• Develops a deep understanding of customer expectations, priorities, and working culture
• Communicates risks, constraints, and uncertainties openly and early
• Acts as a trusted advisor, Avoids over-promising or misrepresenting delivery status or capabilities

Delivery & Project Management

• Leads planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting of automotive engineering projects
• Ensures delivery against agreed scope, quality, cost, and timeline
• Establishes clear governance, reporting, and communication routines
• Proactively manages risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges
• Takes ownership of delivery issues within local scope
• Recognizes when broader organizational support is required
• Escalates effectively within Tata Technologies, providing clarity on context, impact, and required decisions
• Manages escalations in a way that maintains customer confidence and internal alignment

Global Delivery Coordination

• Coordinates delivery across global teams, including offshore and nearshore locations
• Works closely with delivery teams to align customer expectations with global delivery models
• Supports continuous improvement of delivery efficiency and effectiveness

Local Team Leadership (Germany)

• Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to the Automotive team in Germany
• Supports onboarding, integration, and development of local team members
• Ensures alignment between local activities and European and global delivery priorities

Knowledge / Experience

• Relevant experience in automotive engineering services delivery, project, or program management
• Exposure to OEM environments
• Experience working with outsourced and global delivery models with cross-cultural teams
• Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in complex, matrixed organizations
• Experience working in international and cross-cultural teams
• Fluency in German and English
• Awareness of relevant quality, security, and compliance standards (e.g. ISO, TISAX, ) and advantage.
• Experience in customer-facing project or delivery management within automotive engineering services.
