Clinical Effectiveness Lead - Dementia

Location

National Headquarters, Gyle Square, 1 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, EH12 9EB. Candidates may work remotely; travel may be required throughout Scotland.

Salary

Band 7 (£52,845 – £61,466) per annum, dependent upon experience.

Hours

36 hours per week; consideration for full or part‑time work.

Employment Type

1‑year fixed term or secondment.

Overview

This is an exciting, newly created opportunity to provide leadership and strategic direction through the implementation of Scotland’s National Dementia Strategy and associated Delivery Plan. The post holder will support implementation of the Scottish Ambulance Service Dementia Delivery Plan, interpret national policy and professional standards, and apply these to lead and inform the development of local strategies and policy that ensure a robust response across the Service.

Requirements

  • Registered allied health professional or nurse with significant experience working in the field of dementia.
  • Clinician engaged with local and national dementia networks, demonstrating leadership in this area.
  • Educated to degree level with postgraduate or equivalent relevant qualifications.
  • Extensive clinical experience (more than 5 years) and experience of teaching, coaching or mentoring staff in dementia settings.
  • Post holder will be responsible to the Dementia Lead and will have significant autonomy in their role.
  • Registered with the HCPC, NMC or equivalent.
  • Educated to degree level with highly developed professional knowledge of the subject area.
  • Demonstrated achievement in areas of quality, practice development, research or policy, and clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to manage change and work independently.
  • Facilitation, problem‑solving, networking, and project‑management skills.
