Clinical Effectiveness Lead, Mental Health

Location

National Headquarters, Gyle Square, 1 South Gyle Crescent, Edinburgh, EH12 9EB. Candidates may work remotely; travel across Scotland may be required.

Remuneration & Hours

Salary: £52,845 – £61,466 per annum, dependent on experience.

Hours: 36 hours per week. Flexibility for full‑time or part‑time arrangements.

Overview

This role provides leadership and strategic direction for implementing the national mental health strategy and delivery plan. The post holder will interpret national policy and professional standards to inform and lead the development of local strategies and policy, ensuring a robust response within the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret national policy and professional standards and apply them to local strategies and policy.
  • Lead the development of local strategies and policy to ensure a robust response within the Scottish Ambulance Service.
  • Report to and work closely with the head of mental health and dementia.
  • Provide autonomous leadership within the role.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered allied health professional or nurse.
  • Mental health clinician with engagement in local and national mental health networks.
  • Degree level education with postgraduate or equivalent relevant qualifications.
  • Extensive clinical experience (more than 5 years) with experience of teaching, coaching or mentoring staff in mental health settings.

Competencies

  • Registered with the HCPC, NMC or equivalent.
  • Highly developed professional knowledge of the subject area.
  • Demonstrated achievements in quality, practice development, research or policy and clinical practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills, with the ability to manage change.
  • Flexibility and ability to work independently.
  • Facilitation, problem solving, networking and project management skills.
