Data Center Business Unit Location: Richardson, TX Employment Type: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt Important Candidate Requirement All candidates must come from one of the following industry backgrounds: Advanced Technical Facilities, including Semiconductor Bio Life Sciences Data Center construction, with prior large industry experience Candidates outside of these sectors will not be considered. Position Overview

The Director of Engineering and Design Management is a senior leadership role within the Data Center Regional Business Unit. This individual is responsible for assembling and leading high-performing engineering and design teams to deliver complex, mission-critical technical projects. The role partners closely with cross-functional teams to ensure projects meet client expectations, contractual requirements, and company performance standards. This position plays a critical advisory role to Project Delivery leadership on all engineering and design matters. Reporting to: Senior Vice President, Data Center Regional Business Unit Direct Reports: None initially Key Responsibilities

Engineering and Design Leadership Develop and implement detailed engineering and design management plans Lead preparation of project engineering and design execution plans Ensure compliance with company procedures and project delivery requirements Coordinate design and build packages in alignment with project schedules Review drawings and specifications prior to construction release Identify and resolve technical risks, conflicts, and constructability issues Ensure projects meet all regulatory and contractual requirements Project Advisory and Oversight Serve as key advisor to the Director of Project Delivery Monitor project health, performance metrics, and engineering reporting Participate in monthly project reviews Provide timely technical solutions to maintain project milestones and schedule Support value engineering efforts and alternate technical concepts Business Development and Preconstruction Support Participate in new business opportunities and executive project reviews Review employer requirements to understand scope, risk, and liabilities Support preparation of bids and proposals Review specifications to ensure design quality and compliance Contribute to conceptual studies, technical reports, and constructability reviews Stakeholder and Cross Functional Collaboration Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and supply chain partners Collaborate with Engineering, Project Delivery, Business Acquisition, HR, and executive leadership Represent the organization within regional professional and industry networks Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement Develop standard work processes for quantity tracking and reporting Partner with commercial teams to implement consistent reporting standards Promote continuous improvement through tools, systems, and best practices Ensure rigorous engineering reporting protocols are established and maintained Lead internal engineering function planning and resource strategy Support performance management, succession planning, and career development Foster a positive, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture Promote a strong health and safety culture with zero lost time incidents as the goal People Leadership Lead internal engineering function planning and resource strategy Support performance management, succession planning, and career development Foster a positive, ethical, and inclusive workplace culture Promote a strong health and safety culture with zero lost time incidents as the goal Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following: Bachelor's Degree in CSA or MEP Engineering 15 or more years of engineering and design management experience Advanced knowledge of Data Center construction and market trends Experience in mission critical project environments Preferred Qualifications

Membership in a relevant professional engineering or construction body Experience working for or with a large EPC organization Deep experience in Mission Critical sectors such as Data Centers, Semiconductor, or Life Sciences Required Skills and Competencies

Strong leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to clearly communicate complex technical issues to diverse stakeholders Results driven and solution oriented mindset Hands on leadership style with commitment to collaboration and continuous improvement Strong organizational skills and commercial awareness Customer focused with a proactive, self starting approach Travel

Travel may be required based on project and client needs. Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
