Energy Market Analyst

ASE is expanding its Commercial function and as part of this growth, we are now looking for an individual to fill a newly created Energy Analyst position. This key position will sit within ASE’s Commercial function, working closely with Investments, Finance and Development.

Key Responsibilities

• Own our Market Analysis for the key markets, supported by external sources
• Deliver analysis for the valuation and negotiation of our Solar and BESS offtake agreements
• Work on structuring new products combining Solar and BESS assets
• Liaise with Originators Investments for validation and calibration of our models
• Monitor the regulatory frameworks of European markets, market research of government subsidy schemes and evaluate the commercial impact
• Interpret market developments and identify emerging risks and opportunities
• Build and maintain relationships with forecasting houses and system providers
• Support the commercial team in contract negotiations and optimisation initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• +5 years’ experience in analysis of power markets, ideally in our core markets
• Track record in building and utilizing models for the commercial success of an energy business
• Understanding of hybrid PPA structures and pricing methodologies
• Ability to manage our external service providers
• Resilient and determined to contribute to our business success
• Experience in energy market regulation and its impact on renewable PPAs
• Fluent in written and spoken English with strong communication skills. Additional language skills are a merit
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
• Python, Matlab or comparable skills are a plus
• Ability to work well within a team but take ownership of own responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• University degree in engineering, economics, mathematics or comparable education
• Fluency in English. German language skills are a strong advantage
