We’ve built a powerful backend with deep integrations into document systems and content workflows. Now, we’re ready to scale our technology — and are looking for a hands-on Lead Full-Stack Engineer to join us on that mission.

Your Mission
As our Lead Full-Stack Engineer, you’ll build technology and you’ll lead it. This is a hands-on, strategic, and operational role in a seed-stage startup. You’ll ship critical features and translate complex legal workflows into reliable, scalable, and delightful digital experiences.
We are VC-backed, AI-forward, and lean in engineering. If you don’t see the future in hands-on leadership, AI, and pragmatic tech scaling, this might not be your role.

Your Key Challenges in the First Year

• Evolve Our Contract Configuration Tool: Take our existing MVP to the next level by crafting a seamless, intuitive, and fun experience for configuring legal templates. To achieve this, you'll collaborate closely with product and the backend. If you're excited by the challenge of turning complex business logic into a great product, this is your playground.
• Integrate AI into Our Systems: We’re already testing the automation of backend processes using AI, but we want to take this to the next level. Think of assistive AI features bound to the user interface, easing up the template configuration, or supervised/semi-autonomous agents that do the entire template configuration for you, only escalating in edge cases.
• Build the Engineering Org from scratch. Define the structure, standards, and culture from the ground up. You will start by building alongside our current engineer, then hire and mentor others to multiply your impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Own end-to-end feature development – Build core features, debug edge cases, and turn rough ideas into production-ready systems.
• Collaborate across teams: Work closely with product to transform complex legal processes into intuitive user experiences.
• Leverage AI and low-code tools: Integrate AI assistants and agents into workflows and user experiences. Use low-code/no-code tools to accelerate development.
• Define tech vision: Set strategy and roadmap, balancing speed, reliability, and compliance as we scale from MVP to platform.
• Represent technology in leadership: Guide company-wide strategic decisions, tech due diligence, and growth projects.
• Lead the engineering function: Recruit, mentor, and grow the team. Establish standards, CI/CD pipelines, security practices, and documentation.

Your Profile

• 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, ideally with 1+ years in leadership or founding roles.
• Full-stack mindset with product intuition.
• Proficiency in frontend technologies, including React, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, Strong backend expertise with Django, Python, and PostgreSQL.
• Experience building LLM-powered applications, including prompt engineering, RAG systems, and agent orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with document processing, manipulation, and third-party API integrations (Google Docs, Slack, email).
• Experience with Docker containerization and cloud deployment on platforms like Render.
• Experienced in building scalable systems under high ambiguity while maintaining security, compliance, and reliability.
• Strong communicator who can align engineering with business, product, and legal requirements.
• Passion for shaping not just a product, but an entire company and culture.
