What you\u2019ll be doing

You\u2019ve been a strong designer. You\u2019ve led projects, maybe a small team. You\u2019ve delivered great work - but within someone else\u2019s design vision. Now you\u2019re ready to build your own.

This is that role.

We\u2019re looking for a Lead Product Designer to take ownership of design at getquin. You\u2019ll define our design direction, establish how we do user research and validation, and do the hands-on work of transforming our app into something users genuinely love. You\u2019ll work directly with the CEO & product team to take a functional product and make it truly exceptional.

This is a 0-to-1 design opportunity on two fronts: elevating & unifying our existing product AND shaping entirely new product areas as we expand into comprehensive wealth management. You won\u2019t just inherit a design system and maintain it. You\u2019ll evolve it - and define the UX for features that don\u2019t even exist yet.

Own design end-to-end

  • Lead design strategy and execution across the entire product - mobile and web
  • Take features from early problem definition through research, wireframes, prototypes, visual design, and launch
  • Establish and maintain & evolve our design system, ensuring consistency and scalability
  • Define what "good" looks like for getquin and hold that bar across everything we ship, from product to brand topics

Drive user-centred decisions

  • Plan and conduct user research: interviews, usability testing, surveys, concept validation
  • Synthesize findings into actionable insights that shape product direction
  • Use quantitative data alongside qualitative insights to inform design decisions
  • Be the voice of the user in discussions - challenge assumptions with evidence

Partner closely with Product and Engineering

  • Collaborate daily with the PM to define problems worth solving and validate solutions
  • Work with engineers to ensure design intent survives implementation
  • Communicate design rationale clearly to stakeholders at all levels
  • Balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints pragmatically

Grow into design leadership

  • Establish design processes, documentation, and rituals that scale
  • Over time, expand the team and manage agency/freelancer partnerships, if required
  • Oversee marketing design work (ads, app store assets, campaign visuals) - either hands-on or by managing external creatives
  • Raise the design maturity of the organisation
  • Grow your role and scope as the company scales

What we are looking for

You might be a fit if:

  • You have at least 5 years of product design experience and a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of features or products
  • You\u2019ve led projects or small teams, maybe you even had the chance to own design direction company-wide
  • You\u2019re strong in user research - you\u2019ve conducted interviews, usability tests, and used findings to shape product decisions
  • You have solid UX and visual design skills - information architecture, interaction design, and polished UI
  • You\u2019ve worked on top mobile-first consumer products where usability and craft matter
  • You\u2019re data-informed - comfortable using analytics and metrics alongside qualitative insights
  • You have some experience in marketing and brand design
  • You communicate well with non-designers - can articulate your thinking and push back when needed
  • You have a genuine interest in the latest technologies and in particular how to leverage AI in your work
  • You\u2019re ready to step up - you want more ownership, more responsibility, and you\u2019re motivated to grow into a leadership role
  • You\u2019re fluent in English; German is a plus

Strong plus if you have:

  • Experience in fintech, trading, investing, or wealth management products
  • Familiarity with design thinking frameworks and workshop facilitation
  • Experience at an early-stage company or being the leading designer on a product
  • Track record of improving or overhauling an existing product\u2019s design (not just greenfield)
