Job Overview
You aim to make a transformative impact by integrating machine‑learning methods into drug discovery projects? We are seeking a passionate postdoctoral researcher to design predictive modeling approaches that optimally leverage available data to advance drug discovery, focusing on reliable prediction of pharmacokinetic properties in sparse data regimes.
Position duration: 2 years.

Tasks & Responsibilities
- Develop advanced machine learning methods, including reliable uncertainty estimation, in collaboration with local experts to drive our ML‑based PK modelling initiative.
- Leverage meta‑information integration and multitask approaches to predict small‑molecule properties that impact in‑vivo performance and generate a tangible impact on drug discovery projects.
- Integrate experiments and predictions, together with uncertainty estimates, for data‑driven decision making.
- Contribute to external collaborations, leveraging additional data sources to enhance predictive modelling capabilities.
- Set up a strategy that combines experimental results with predictions to optimise design of in‑vivo studies and prioritise compounds for synthesis.
- Drive publication of research results in close collaboration with the team, ensuring high‑quality scientific output.
- Present work at international conferences and Post‑Doc Days, gaining insights into drug discovery strategies and career development opportunities.
Requirements
- PhD in Life Sciences, Computer Science, or related disciplines.
- Strong programming skills in Python (mandatory); experience with RDKit is an asset.
- Hands‑on experience with state‑of‑the‑art machine‑learning techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary skills (publication record, etc.).
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
