Your role

The Department of Economics and Management of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a Postdoctoral researcher to conduct research in development economics.

The postdoctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professors Luisito Bertinelli and Jean-François Maystadt (UCLouvain) on a joint project (ROAD) financed by the FNR and FNRS. In particular, the Postdoctoral Researcher will be in charge of :

Realizing empirical research in the general field of development economics, and in particular related to the ROAD project
Collaborating with the PhD candidate hired on the same project
Contributing to publications in scientific reviews and participating to conferences

Your profile

We are looking for a candidate with a PhD in economics, preferably with a specialization in applied microeconometrics. Please note: Applications from PhD candidates who will have started their final year of doctoral studies before that date may be considered.

In particular, the following requirements apply:

Strong interest in all areas of development economics
The candidate must have a deep interest in questions related to infrastructure and development, and a thorough knowledge of applied econometrics
The candidate should show some acquaintance in managing large datasets and non-traditional data, e.g. GIS, satellite-based, social media
Fluency in English; a good understanding of French will be considered as an advantage
