Senior Quantitative Risk Analyst (f / d / m)

• You actively support the management of the risks for the energy trading business of the EWE TRADING in close partnership with the trading desks
• You support the strategic improvement and development of our PPA business, and you will become the main contact within Riskmanagement for all PPA-related issues
• You will also actively work on the risk side in the field of (structured) power trading
• You are the first point of contact in risk management for inquiries in the area of forward curves in close coordination with the analysis team and the trading desks
• You are familiar with the concept of discounting, NPV and risk-adjusted NPV
• You work independently on projects and the related documentation requirements
• The development and implementation of concepts and methods is done by you and your colleagues in close cooperation with the Analysis and DevOps teams
• You support the evaluation and development of new trading strategies and products and improve our trading system
• Ad hoc-analyses and evaluations are provided by you when needed
• The reporting, their enhancements and maintenance are ensured by you and your colleagues
• You support your Risk Management fellows and all other departments (e.g. the Trading Desks, the Credit Riskmanagement Team, etc.)

Your profile :

• A degree in mathematics, physics, business mathematics, business information systems or an equivalent experience in the energy, finance or insurance sector
• Good skillsets in modelling, implementing, and applying stochastic models - preferably within the energy, finance or comparable sectors – you understand the concepts of option pricing, greeks, VaR, fair values, etc.
• Good programming skills, preferably in Python
• You are familiar with the energy business and PPA products
• You are eager to learn new skills, improve upon your existing proficiencies and can break down complex topics into digestible portions
• Experience with reporting tools, preferably Microsoft Power BI, is an advantage
• Good verbal and written communication skills (English and German)
• You are a reliably team player and can also work on your own
