Job Objectives / Key Accountabilities

• You take overall responsibility for the safe, efficient, and cost-effective technical operation of your assigned vessels aligning with strategic company goals and owners’ expectations.
• You lead complex maintenance and repair projects, ensuring timely execution and high-quality standards.
• You act as a senior technical point of contact for demanding clients and maintain long-term, trust-based relationships with client representatives.
• You plan, coordinate, and supervise drydockings, major conversions, and modernization projects, including budget ownership and contract negotiations.
• You conduct regular vessel visits, technical audits, and inspections, and initiate strategic improvement measures based on findings.
• You approve and monitor technical expenditures, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets and company policies.
• You ensure full compliance with environmental regulations and actively promote sustainability initiatives.
• You support and mentor Superintendents, fostering knowledge transfer and team development.

Requirements

• Education & Work Experience: Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent qualification (e.g., Chief Engineer with extensive sea-going experience).
• Several years of experience as a Technical Superintendent, ideally in a senior or lead role within a ship-owning or ship-management company.
• Proven track record in strategic planning and execution of drydockings, technical projects, and commercial negotiations. Strong knowledge of third-party audits and internal quality assessments.
• Experience with innovative maritime technologies (e.g., dual-fuel engines, hybrid propulsion systems, digital monitoring tools) is an advantage.
• Excellent leadership skills, strong communication abilities, and a high level of personal accountability.
