Sitework Estimator

Trueline's client, a well-established and growing sitework contractor based in Delaware, is seeking a Sitework Estimator to join their team in Smyrna, DE. This high-impact role focuses solely on estimating civil and sitework projects, with no project management duties. It’s a prime opportunity for a detail-driven estimator who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to directly contribute to a company’s growth.

What You’ll Do as the Sitework Estimator:

  • Prepare detailed takeoffs and build accurate cost estimates for civil sitework packages.
  • Analyze plans, specs, and geotechnical reports to fully scope each project.
  • Price labor, materials, and subcontractor inputs with precision.
  • Manage multiple bids concurrently, often totaling $5M+ monthly.
  • Identify risks, build work packages, and apply contingencies where needed.
  • Collaborate with PMs, vendors, and subcontractors to refine bids and pricing.
  • Support value engineering efforts to keep projects competitive without compromising quality.

Must-Haves as the Sitework Estimator:

  • 5+ years of civil construction experience, including grading, excavation, paving, utilities, and concrete.
  • Proven estimating background with site packages and public works projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret civil drawings and specs with a high level of detail.
  • Experience with takeoff software (Trimble or similar) and Excel-based estimating tools.
  • Strong organization skills to manage tight timelines and multiple simultaneous bids.
  • Clear, professional communication style with internal and external teams.

Nice‑to‑Haves as the Sitework Estimator:

  • 3+ years estimating experience specifically in sitework.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam and internal estimating tools.
  • Knowledge of the Delaware construction market and local subcontractor base.
