Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain automated test suites for applications developed primarily in Java;
  • Perform manual and exploratory testing to validate new and existing functionality;
  • Analyze and decompose business and system requirements into testable components;
  • Contribute to the development of test tools, emulation layers, and supporting software;
  • Maintain and extend performance and endurance test frameworks;
  • Drive improvements in test architecture, automation coverage, and CI/CD integration;
  • Coach and mentor junior QA engineers within the team;
  • Participate actively in agile ceremonies and promote a quality-first mindset across teams.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience;
  • 10+ years in JAVA software development and 5+ years in QA automation;
  • Proven experience in intralogistics or warehouse management systems (WMS);
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, and concurrency;
  • Hands‑on experience with test automation frameworks (JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, REST Assured);
  • Proficiency with GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, and related CI/CD tools;
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (GCP / Azure) and containerization (Docker);
  • Experience with PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server, or Oracle databases;
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills;
  • Fluent in English (German a plus).

Nice to have

  • Experience with cloud‑based testing and scalable automation frameworks;
  • Prior exposure to industrial automation, SCADA, or embedded testing environments;
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools and CI observability metrics.
