Software Engineer - COBOL (m/f/x)

Responsibilities

• Technical responsibility for the ERGO Authorization System (based on COBOL programming language) within Projects and Operations, including analysis of error and incident situations, conceptualization and implementation of measures for their resolution
• Responsible collaboration in (agile) projects of various sizes
• Development, testing, and implementation of IT systems using professional application of modern methods, techniques, and processes
• Responsibility for (partial) IT systems
• Content management of the (offshore) development team

Qualifications

• Successfully completed University or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Business Administration, or comparable training with relevant further education and several years of professional experience
• Mastery of the following technologies: (+6 years of experience in COBOL, DB2, JCL, Database Design, Data Modeling, TSO/ISPF & Debugging know-how in Mainframe)
• Strong ability to quickly grasp, analyze, and articulate complex issues, combined with a strong solution-oriented approach
• High organizational skills, resilience, and flexibility, pronounced team spirit, social competence, and good personal presentation, especially in collaboration with clients
• Strategic thinking and enjoyment of innovations
