Overview

The Software Technical Specialist is a customer‑facing role focused on training and mentoring our customers around AEC software. Working alongside sales and technical teams, you will help customers adopt new technologies and grow their adoption of our solutions. The role also offers opportunities to present products to prospective customers and participate in key events.

Key Responsibilities

Training Services

  • Deliver training courses to clients in‑house, on‑site, or online.
  • Prepare and deliver bespoke training courses tailored to customer needs.
  • Conduct post‑training course customer reviews.
  • Assist with training administration duties (e.g., customer evaluations, courseware, certificates).

Post‑Sales Support

  • Advise clients on technical issues related to implementation and use of design software.
  • Liaise with suppliers to research and identify solutions to client issues.

General Company Duties

  • Research and provide technical advice to management on new product opportunities.
  • Assist sales and marketing staff with business development matters.

Key Success Indicators

  • High success measured by post‑training surveys.
  • Creation of whitepapers and industry‑focused articles.
  • Generation of tips, tricks, and ‘how‑to’ content for customers and internal teams.
  • Maintenance of relevant certifications both internally and externally.

What you must have done already

  • 3+ years of technical experience.
  • Proven experience in a technical role within the AEC industry with expertise in AEC software solutions such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bentley MicroStation, Trimble SketchUp, and others.
  • Proven experience in the German CAD market.
  • Strong understanding of AEC workflows, project lifecycle, and industry standards.
  • Knowledge in BIM & BIM processes.

What is nice to have done already

  • Appreciation for other disciplines and how they collaborate on projects.
  • Experience in a training capacity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to customer sites for on‑site support and training.
  • Certifications or training in relevant software platforms and technologies are a plus.
  • Good technical understanding in the IT industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including face‑to‑face, telephone, and written communication.
  • Problem analysis and solving skills.
  • Excellent level of German skills.
