Business Development Manager - Germany and North East Europe

Reporting to the Director of Europe, International Business Development, this position will be responsible for identifying and qualifying new international business opportunities across Germany and North Eastern Europe (Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia), evaluating the viability of such opportunities, shaping customer requirements and directly supporting Rotary and Mission Systems’ Line of Business capture activities while managing international customer relationships within the region. It is necessary for the individual to understand, articulate and support our regional and global strategies as well as support strategy development for the region. Develop country and regional business development plans that sustain current programs and develop growth opportunities across the RMS portfolio. Shape the international strategy for Rotary and Mission Systems and coordinate across multiple Business Areas / functions within the corporation, including but not limited to Global Business Development, Lockheed Martin Business areas (Aero, Missiles & Fire Control, Space), Program Management, Operations, Finance, etc. The preferred location of this position will be based in Berlin.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• 10-15+ years of business development and/or operational experience.
• Ability to communicate fluently in English and 1 or 2 local languages.
• A high degree of flexibility and the ability to travel worldwide without restriction.
• Must be able to operate and thrive in a fast-paced international environment.
• Must be self-motivated and able to operate with minimal guidance and succeed in a highly competitive arena.
• Strong technical and operational experience and understanding of Combat Weapon Systems including Ballistic Missile Defense, IAMD defense architectures to include Command and Control systems.
• Understanding of Rotary Wing capability, operation, employment.
• Understanding of German and North Eastern Europe Government structures and acquisition processes to include Ministry of Defense and all three services in each country.
• Understanding of US military strategy and policy in Germany and North Eastern Europe region and organizations.

• Experience working with the US Embassies and US/NATO commands across the region.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to clearly articulate strategies at multiple levels of business and government.
• Understanding of German and North Eastern European cultures.
• Understanding of military rotary wing market.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
