About the Company

For an established international group active in the circular economy, environmental compliance and recycling, we are looking for an entrepreneurial commercial professional to drive the next phase of growth of its German business.

The group supports manufacturers, importers, distributors and online retailers in meeting their Extended Producer Responsibility obligations and implementing effective take-back and recycling solutions for consumer electronics.

Unlike purely advisory providers, the organisation combines EPR and WEEE compliance expertise with practical capabilities across collection, logistics and recycling. Through one of its group companies, it has an established presence in the German recycling market. More recently, the group expanded its German offering to include EPR and compliance services and has already built a substantial local customer base.

Germany is one of the group’s key strategic growth markets. The objective is to significantly expand the business and strengthen the company’s position as a challenger in the German EPR market.

This is a genuine business-building role rather than a traditional account management position.

The successful candidate will take ownership of new business development in Germany and shape the company’s go-to-market approach, priority customer segments and market positioning. The existing German team will continue to manage ongoing customer relationships.

Working directly with the General Manager, the local team and central group functions, the successful candidate will have significant freedom to influence how the German business develops. As the organisation grows, the position may evolve into a broader commercial leadership role, including the opportunity to build a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and acquire new B2B customers, particularly manufacturers, distributors, importers and online retailers.
• Manage business opportunities from initial contact through negotiation to contract closing.
• Work closely with the German expert team to develop and deliver tailored EPR, WEEE and environmental compliance solutions.
• Define priority customer segments, sales channels and market positioning.
• Collaborate closely with central marketing, product development and back-office functions to support market development and customer acquisition.
• Use targeted marketing activities to support lead generation and customer acquisition.
• Represent the company in customer meetings, tenders and relevant industry networks.

Candidate Requirements

• At least five years of experience in B2B sales, business development or key account management.
• Proven success in new customer acquisition and complex solution sales.
• Relevant background in EPR, WEEE, recycling, environmental compliance or in the consumer electronics sector.
• Strong commercial drive, entrepreneurial mindset and motivation to develop a market.
• Ability to combine hands-on sales with strategic thinking.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• German at native level or C1 and working proficiency in English.
• Willingness to travel within Germany.

Experience in EPR, WEEE, recycling or environmental compliance is an advantage, but not essential. Candidates from manufacturers, distributors or importers within the consumer electronics sector are also highly relevant.
