Data & Analytics Engineer (m/f/d)

In this role you will strengthen EGYM’s data foundation to power Wellpass and Technology platforms. You’ll turn complex data landscapes into scalable models and build a semantic layer that underpins BI, self-service analytics, and AI-driven data experiences. You will work across data engineering, modeling, and AI enablement to deliver trusted data and governance at scale. The opportunity centers on shaping data architecture, semantic definitions, and AI-ready data to enable measurable business impact.

• Design, build, and operate data pipelines and transformations across heterogeneous source systems using Snowflake, dbt, GCP, and modern orchestration in a warehouse-centric environment
• Translate business processes into scalable analytical data models with defined grains, facts, dimensions, and conformed entities
• Develop and evolve the semantic layer using Snowflake Semantic Views and reusable definitions of entities, metrics, and relationships
• Shape data models, metadata, and semantic context to support AI-powered analytics and agents (e.g., Cortex Analyst/Agents)
• Improve engineering practices through automated testing, data quality, observability, data contracts, CI/CD, and production ownership
• Adopt AI-assisted development to boost engineering productivity and explore new technologies to simplify the stack
• Participate in architectural decisions and contribute to scalable standards across the team
• Ensure privacy-by-design and compliant data handling (GDPR, access controls, masking, retention) across the platform

• 3+ years in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or similar production-grade analytics platform role
• Strong experience with dimensional and analytical data modeling (grains, facts, dimensions, slowly changing dimensions)
• Hands-on with Snowflake or equivalent cloud data warehouse, solid dbt skills, and excellent SQL
• Python experience and orchestration tooling such as Airflow or Prefect
• Experience integrating data from multiple heterogeneous systems and handling complex cross-domain dependencies
• Knowledge of semantic modeling concepts; experience with Snowflake Semantic Views, dbt Semantic Layer, or similar is a plus
• Interest in AI-enabled analytics and understanding that data quality underpins AI outputs
• Experience with version control, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and production ownership; Terraform is a plus
