Data Annotator for AI Models – English (United States)

Location: Remote (CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MN, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, WI)

Work schedule: Full time, 8 AM to 5 PM PST (Monday to Friday)

Contract duration: End of September 2026

Responsibilities

• Annotate data accurately and consistently according to predefined guidelines in the required language.
• Perform basic research as needed to ensure accurate annotation.
• Provide feedback regarding observed patterns in the annotated data and contribute to continuous improvement of the data annotation process.
• Maintain high attention to detail and quality throughout the annotation process.
• Engage in continuous learning and adaptability; provide feedback and ask questions.

Requirements

• Excellent comprehension and written communication skills in English (additional language knowledge is a plus).
• Located in any of the following states: CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KS, MA, MN, NC, NE, NH, NJ, NM, NY, OK, OR, PA, TN, TX, WA, WI.
• Ability to work full time from 8 AM to 5 PM PST (Monday to Friday), no exceptions.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets, including basic formulas.
• Good general communication skills.
• Detail-oriented and able to understand and follow instructions.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Responsible, reliable, and communicative.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with the Appen Annotation Platform (ADAP) and machine learning principles.
• A broad range of interests with specific areas of expertise is a plus.
• Experience in a professional work environment.
• Previous experience with data annotation tasks.
