hw.d is a first-class, professionally run, award-winning design agency for corporate experiences in branding, communication and reporting, based in the heart of Munich. Our strategic approach, outstanding design expertise and interdisciplinary way of working, combined with a forward-looking perspective, make us a leading agency for future-ready corporate identities. Since 1995, we have been supporting companies ranging from start-ups to DAX-listed corporations. Our focused team comprises around 20 staff members, supported by an extensive network in consulting, strategy, design, communication and implementation.

Your responsibilities:

With us, you can not only conceptualise unique corporate branding and communication projects, but also implement them across various touchpoints and media channels. As an experienced Design Director (m/f/d), you are involved throughout the entire project lifecycle and work independently as a member of our design team. You develop challenging tasks together with the team while having a Creative Director by your side. Your clients are diverse and ambitious, coming from start-ups, the mid-market sector, or DAX40 companies.

• Creative and strategic development of branding, reporting, and communication measures at a sophisticated creative and strategic level.
• Development and realisation of brand-aligned multidisciplinary appearances — from websites to exhibition stands, with a focus on digital media (strong conceptual skills in UI/UX).
• The main focus is on creative development, high-quality implementation, and process management of the overall creative process across multiple clients and projects.
• Excellent use of creative development and presentation tools such as the Adobe Suite (including After Effects), Figma, Keynote, or Cinema 4D.
• Preparing and delivering internal and external presentations.
• As a team player, you collaborate with other departments within the agency, such as consulting, strategy, and creative direction.
• You also enthusiastically contribute to strategic projects aimed at advancing the agency, for example, our current focus on Sustainable Brand Leadership.
• As an active team member in a small, professional team, you also take on internal tasks to a suitable extent.

Your profile:

• A degree in design or a comparable field of study.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the development and implementation of medium to large-scale branding, reporting, and/or communications projects.
• Excellent analytical skills, strong team orientation, and a hands‑on mindset.
• Fluent in both German and English.
• A structured, responsible, and reliable approach to work is second nature to you.
• Strong communication skills, diplomacy, and persuasive ability.
• Good to very good knowledge of relevant software and tools.
• You have prior experience in team leadership and enjoy taking on professional responsibility for selected team members within your area.
