Design Manager

As Design Manager, you will lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust designs for hyperscale, enterprise and colocation data-centre projects. You will oversee the full design cycle, ensuring technical quality, regulatory compliance and strong stakeholder engagement from concept to construction support. You’ll shape briefs with clients, promote energy efficiency and modular design, and coordinate with environmental and grid stakeholders to accelerate delivery. This role offers meaningful impact in modern data-centre development while working within a growth-focused, supportive culture.

• Manage design stages across architecture, MEP, environmental, digital systems and technical advisory streams
• Ensure integrated solutions for energy management, water systems, sustainability and operational resilience
• Collaborate with clients on briefs, origination, commercial definition and feasibility
• Ensure compliance with UK and international standards and project readiness
• Support modular and prefabricated design approaches to speed delivery and energy efficiency
• Coordinate planning submissions, permitting, and interfaces with environmental and grid stakeholders

• Extensive design-management experience in mission-critical or technically complex infrastructure, preferably data centres
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination skills integrating engineering, architecture, digital and environmental inputs
• Awareness of UK market drivers like power-grid constraints, AI-related energy use, net-zero policies and new facility construction
• Proactive, solutions-focused approach to regulatory, environmental and technical challenges
• Excellent communication and client-management skills
• Degree-level qualifications in engineering, architecture or a related discipline; chartership desirable
