(This is a Germany-based hybrid role. C2/bilingual German and regular presence in Frankfurt are essential to be a successful applicant.)
Your Future Employer:
Our partner is an established European B2B SaaS company within the Customer Experience / Experience Management space, helping organisations understand and act on customer and employee insights.
With approximately €20M in recurring revenue , the business has established operations across several European markets and is now entering an important next phase of growth.
Following investment from a European private equity firm , significant investment is being made across product, commercial capabilities and international expansion. The company is simultaneously evolving from its heritage in survey and Employee Experience software towards a broader Customer Experience / Voice of Customer platform .
Commercially, this means moving:
- From transactional and inbound-led sales → proactive outbound
- From individual solutions → a broader Experience Management platform
- From relatively straightforward sales → mid-market and enterprise, multi-stakeholder deals
- Towards a more structured, data-driven and predictable GTM organisation
DACH is already an established €5M+ ARR region , but remains significantly below its potential.
The next objective is approximately 15% annual growth , making this a genuine transformation opportunity rather than a role focused on maintaining an existing commercial machine.
Your Role as Director of Sales DACH
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll take ownership of the commercial agenda and ARR growth across DACH .
You'll oversee an established regional organisation across New Business, Account Management / Expansion and Professional Services , supported by existing sales leadership responsible for the day-to-day management of the AE team.
You'll ultimately be measured against DACH ARR growth rather than an individual quota . The exact balance between player and coach will evolve depending on what the business needs, but this is not a strategy-only leadership position.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Owning DACH ARR growth, pipeline and overall commercial performance .
- Driving the transition from an inbound-heavy, transactional motion towards proactive, consultative and enterprise-style selling .
- Remaining close to strategic opportunities, typically within the €20k–€80k ACV range and ~6+ month sales cycles .
- Building a stronger outbound and pipeline-generation culture rather than relying predominantly on inbound demand.
- Coaching the organisation around discovery, qualification, value selling, multi-threading and complex deal execution .
- Establishing stronger operating rhythms around pipeline coverage, forecasting, conversion, CRM discipline and performance management .
- Driving both new-logo acquisition and expansion across the existing customer base.
- Supporting the company's repositioning towards a broader CX / Voice of Customer proposition in the DACH market.
- Working directly with the CEO and wider executive team on regional GTM strategy.
- Representing the business externally through strategic customer relationships, events and industry networks.
- Potentially taking on broader Managing Director responsibilities for the German entity over time.
Who You Are:
- Hands-on Sales: You've personally closed B2B SaaS deals and remain credible in front of customers. Ideally, you've operated around €20k–€80k ACV , longer sales cycles and complex buying committees.
- Player-Coach Leadership: You've managed or had meaningful responsibility for commercial teams, ideally around 5–15+ people , while remaining close to customers and deals yourself.
- Builder Mentality: You've operated in a scale-up or transformation environment where you had to create structure rather than simply inherit it . Experience with inbound → outbound, SMB → mid-market / enterprise, product repositioning or commercial turnaround is particularly relevant.
- Commercial Understanding: You have a strong grasp of ARR, pipeline coverage, ACV, conversion, win rates, sales cycles, NRR and forecasting , and know how to turn those metrics into commercial action.
- Data-Driven: You combine strong sales instincts with structured pipeline management, forecasting and performance management.
- DACH Credibility: You understand the German B2B SaaS market and can credibly engage senior stakeholders within mid-market and enterprise organisations.
- Modern GTM Mindset: You're curious about AI, automation and modern SaaS tooling , and how these can improve commercial productivity and execution.
- Personality: Entrepreneurial, pragmatic and execution-focused. You're comfortable with ambiguity, willing to challenge the status quo and take genuine accountability for outcomes.
- Industry: Previous CX / VoC / Experience Management exposure is advantageous but not essential . Experience within a relevant B2B SaaS environment at a comparable growth stage can be equally valuable.
- Languages: German C2/bilingual and fluent English.
- Location: Germany-based with regular presence in Frankfurt . This doesn't necessarily mean relocating: depending on your location, this could mean 2–3 days weekly or several days every second week. Travel across DACH will be approximately 20%.
