European Gateway Manager (Air Freight)

Overview

An exciting opportunity to lead a central European airfreight gateway for a global logistics and supply chain organisation. This role carries full operational and strategic responsibility for gateway performance, driving efficiency, quality, and growth across European consolidation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all gateway operations including Export, Import, Crossdock, Cargo Handling, Warehouse, Security, and Customs
• Ensure operational excellence across performance, compliance, quality, and cost efficiency
• Manage and develop a team of 40 - 50 staff including supervisors and team leaders
• Drive optimisation and full utilisation of European consolidation programs
• Act as the key interface across Operations, Product, Procurement, Finance, and global airfreight teams
• Expand and enhance gateway product offerings in line with regional and global strategy

Requirements

• Proven gateway management experience within air freight essential
• Minimum 10+ years in air freight, including senior operational leadership
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, aviation security (RegB), customs, and KPI performance management
• Degree or vocational qualification in Logistics, Air Transport, or Supply Chain Management
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and operational optimisation skills
