EVP, Head of Oncology (all genders)

As Head of Oncology, you will shape and execute Evotec’s oncology R&D strategy and lead strategic collaborations to build a differentiated pipeline. You will manage a cross-functional, multi-site team and steer partnerships with pharma/biotech while identifying high-impact opportunities. The role combines scientific leadership with strategic oversight to accelerate internal assets and platform innovations. This is a mission-critical opportunity to position Evotec as a leader in oncology through translational science and strong collaborations.

• Define and own the strategy to develop an internal oncology pipeline and related partnerships, including spin-out creation
• Lead strategic collaborations and provide oncology drug discovery guidance to grow the candidate portfolio
• Line-manage the Oncology R&D team and the BMS-Onco core team
• Drive development of Innovate Oncology and platform portfolio with commercial potential
• Budget responsibility for internal oncology asset development
• Provide disease know-how and drug discovery expertise to support internal R&D
• Foster relationships with collaborators to ensure projects progress as planned
• Set goals and create a development-focused culture within the team
• Collaborate with Operations, Key Account Management and Business Development to shape and convert R&D projects into partnerships
• Represent Evotec’s oncology expertise at events, conferences, collaborations, and publications

• PhD in molecular biology/biochemistry or similar life science subject
• Several years of cancer biology expertise in drug discovery and development with high scientific rigor and leadership skills
• Strong understanding of pharma R&D value chain and oncology subject matter expertise
• Experience in pharmaceutical drug discovery from target ID to IND filing, with translational science know-how
• Proven leadership and ability to coordinate cross-departmental and multi-site activities
• Extensive experience collaborating within and across partnerships
• Excellent leadership, networking and project management skills
• Flexible, time-efficient problem-solving to drive decisions
