Expert Hardware Test Engineer (f/m/d)

In this role, you will lead hardware testing for Orbem’s automated MRI systems, collaborating with MRI, mechatronics, compliance, and software teams to validate mechanical, electrical, and mechatronic components. You’ll shape test strategy, quality gates, and a robust QMS while coordinating factory acceptance tests and supplier assessments. This position combines hands-on testing with building a scalable test organization in a fast-growing, mission-driven company. You will drive measurable quality improvements that support sustainable, high-impact imaging solutions.

• Define and implement hardware test strategies, protocols, and quality gates for automation and imaging units
• Create environments for in-house testing of subsystems and components
• Collaborate with product development, supply chain, field engineers, and software integration
• Establish and own the QMS framework and testing processes
• Plan and execute testing strategies for supplier assessments and FATs at manufacturing sites
• Lead the long-term testing and quality strategy and build the testing team and resources

• 5+ years in hardware, reliability, mechatronics, or system-integration testing
• Proven experience leading a testing team
• Experience establishing quality/testing frameworks for complex systems
• Hands-on with automation systems, sensors, actuators, oscilloscopes, or PLCs
• Ability to set objective pass/fail criteria and perform root-cause analysis
• Experience writing test plans for electro-mechanical interfaces
