Stellenbeschreibung:

We are looking for a talented and passionate Fleet Manager (M/F/D) to join our dynamic team on an automotive project in Hannover Region, Germany.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Fleet Coordination & Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the complete vehicle fleet, including project-specific prototype vehicles and internal test vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inventory, availability, condition, and operational status.
  • Coordinate vehicle allocation across engineering, testing, and validation teams according to project priorities and schedules.
  • Monitor fleet utilization and ensure optimal vehicle deployment.

Resource Management for Vehicle Operations

  • Manage internal and external resources supporting vehicle-related activities.
  • Coordinate vehicle commissioning and bring-up activities, ensuring readiness for development and testing programs.
  • Plan and oversee preventive maintenance schedules to maximize fleet availability and minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate repairs, modifications, rework, and technical upgrades resulting from testing activities or component changes.
  • Ensure all vehicle lifecycle activities are executed efficiently and in compliance with project timelines.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain effective communication with engineering, testing, project management teams, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Provide regular reports on vehicle location, utilization, mileage, operating hours, and operational status.
  • Track and communicate fleet performance metrics and vehicle deployment activities.
  • Forecast vehicle availability, maintenance requirements, and future fleet needs.
  • Facilitate prioritization discussions and align vehicle allocation decisions with overall project milestones and business objectives.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for vehicle-related operational, technical, and logistical issues.
  • Lead resolution efforts to minimize disruption to project activities.
  • Coordinate contingency plans and resource reallocation when required.
  • Implement and manage incident reporting and root cause analysis processes.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions for recurring fleet issues.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience

  • Experience managing vehicle fleets, automotive testing programs, prototype fleets, or technical assets in an engineering environment.
  • Proven experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing operational resources.
  • Experience with vehicle maintenance planning, repair coordination, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Background in project coordination, logistics operations, or fleet management.
  • Experience handling operational escalations and issue resolution.

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of vehicle development, testing, validation, or engineering operations.
  • Knowledge of fleet management systems and asset tracking tools.
  • Experience with maintenance planning, service scheduling, and vehicle utilization reporting.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Soft Skills

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, highly dynamic project environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience within the automotive, mobility, autonomous driving, or advanced vehicle technology sectors.
  • Knowledge of prototype vehicle operations and development programs.
  • Familiarity with telematics, GPS tracking systems, and fleet analytics tools.
  • Project Management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent).
  • Experience managing external suppliers, maintenance contractors, and service providers.
  • Knowledge of vehicle homologation, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
  • Experience working with custom-built, development, or test vehicles.
  • Understanding of root cause analysis methodologies (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP, Jira, ServiceNow, Fleetio, or similar fleet and asset management platforms.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement training.
  • International and multicultural project experience.
  • Ability to interpret technical vehicle data and engineering reports.
