Join Aampere, a seed-stage, VC-backed startup redefining the European market for used electric vehicles. The ambition is no smaller than becoming the #1 EV Resale Platform in Europe. You'd be on of our first engineers – with a real say in how we build, not just what. 4x YoY revenue growth. 1%+ market share of German consumer EV resales – and we’re just getting started.

Our team comes from the German startup ecosystem, with experience at Autarc, Greenforce, Cardino, Wemolo, Alasco, Porsche, and Mercedes.

Your Mission

End-to-End Ownership: You build and own features from idea to production. Frontend, backend, infrastructure – whatever it takes to ship something that works.

Frontend Craft: You build clean, performant UIs with Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind. You care about what users actually experience.

Backend Engineering: You design and maintain scalable services and RESTful APIs with TypeScript, Nest.js and PostgreSQL. Data flows reliably because you made sure it does.

Business-driven Engineering: You understand what you’re building and why. You connect technical decisions to outcomes and act without being asked.

AI-native Development: You use AI tools (Cursor, Claude Code, etc.) as a core part of your workflow – not as a gimmick, but as a real lever for speed and quality.

What you bring

Experience: 3-6+ years building production systems across the full stack.

Stack: Confident with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Nest.js, PostgreSQL, and Docker.

Ownership: You solve problems end-to-end: architecture, implementation, deployment, iteration.

Founding Mindset: You’re energized by ambiguity, not slowed down by it. You’ve built things from 0→1 before – or you’ve been hungry to.

Been there before: You’ve worked at a VC-backed startup before – you know what 'move fast' actually means, and you didn’t run away from it.

Communication: Clear communicator in English. German is a plus.

Infra: Experience with AWS and GitLab CI/CD.

Aampere isn’t for you if...

• you want to work mostly remote. We believe the best ideas happen when people are in the same room. That is why you are in our office at least four days a week.
• you want to join a mature engineering org with established playbooks. We’re writing ours right now.
• you need a finished plan before you start. Seed stage means a lot is unclear and changes week to week. You have to be comfortable making decisions in the dark and correcting course as you go.
• you want to stay in your lane. "That is not my job" is not a thing here. You jump in where it matters, even when it sits outside your job description.
• you want a classic 9-to-5. We are building something big, and that does not happen on the side.
