Head of Data Platform (m/f/d)

As Director, Data Platform you will shape and run Solactive’s internal data hub, ensuring clean, timely market data for index construction, analytics, and client delivery. You’ll lead a ~30-person data engineering and operations team, driving scalable, reliable, and cost-efficient infrastructure. You will align platform capabilities with business goals and oversee governance, data quality, and cross‑functional collaboration. • Translate market data and client requirements into platform capabilities
• Define and deliver the data platform vision for scalable, reliable infrastructure
• Lead and develop a ~30-person data engineering and operations team
• Oversee end-to-end data operations from ingestion to internal distribution
• Shape data architecture and governance for quality, lineage, compliance, and operational excellence
• Drive strategic alignment across engineering, product, and operations to deliver business outcomes
• Promote innovation by evaluating internal and external solutions for new tech and data sources
• Communicate vision and progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Partner with HR and senior leadership to attract and retain top talent

• 10+ years in data engineering, platform management, or infrastructure leadership
• 5+ years leading large teams
• Domain knowledge of financial market data (pricing, reference, corporate actions, ESG, alternative data)
• Deep experience with modern data architectures and tools (Kafka, Airflow, Flink, Iceberg, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS/GCP/Azure)
• Proven ability to operate large-scale data ingestion and processing systems handling financial or reference data
• Track record of leading multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex systems
• Excellent communicator with strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities
