Head of Market Data Management (f/m/d)

As Head of Market Data Management, you lead global sourcing, licensing and governance of external market data across multiple business units. You will shape the licensing framework, usage governance and vendor relations to support data-driven decision making and the group’s data mesh initiatives. Your work enables scalable, compliant data access for AI, automation and commercial activity. You join a cross-functional leadership team to optimize costs, mitigate risk and align data strategy with the enterprise vision.

• Oversee global market data sourcing for real-time, delayed, historical, reference, index, ratings, alternative and derived data
• Manage licensing across display, non-display, redistribution, derived data, index, benchmark, enterprise, application and AI/model usage
• Lead vendor negotiations, renewals, audits, remediation and dispute resolution
• Establish global licensing and usage control framework across entities, locations, systems and business lines
• Partner with procurement, compliance, finance, technology and business to manage licensing, commercial risk and policy changes
• Provide commercial oversight of market data spend, budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, renewal planning and contract rationalisation
• Drive central and decentralised market data administration, inventory, entitlement, reporting and data consumption teams
• Contribute to enterprise data strategy via data sourcing, ingestion and intragroup sharing within data governance initiatives
• Support data governance, access controls, and data quality initiatives to enable AI and digital business models
• Ensure alignment with regulatory expectations, audit requirements and vendor contracts

• 6+ years in market data management or related fields in financial services
• Strong track record in complex vendor negotiations, renewals, audits and dispute resolution
• Deep understanding of market data licensing, contracts, exchange policies and usage models
• Proven ability to manage cross-functional stakeholder relationships at senior levels
• Experience operating across multiple legal entities, jurisdictions and business lines
• Strong communication skills to simplify licensing, legal and operational issues
• Leadership experience with teams across product, data, technology, compliance and finance
• Knowledge of data governance, entitlement management, inventory management and reporting
