Investment & Development VP - Real Estate Investment & Development | Well-capitalised European platform with significant capital to deploy | Hamburg

Stoneleaf Search is mandated by a well-capitalised European real estate investment and development platform to appoint an Investment & Development VP in the Hamburg region. The business operates a value creation strategy across urban living, mixed-use and regeneration opportunities, with an active pipeline and capital ready to deploy.

This is a lean, entrepreneurial environment where you will work closely with senior leadership and play a central role in identifying, sourcing, shaping and advancing opportunities across Hamburg and the wider Northern German market, with regular trips to the Frankfurt office. The remit sits across both investment and development, with a strong emphasis on sourcing land and real estate opportunities through local relationships, understanding planning dynamics, and driving projects from early‑stage origination through to capitalisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Originate land, off‑market and relationship‑led investment and development opportunities across Hamburg and Northern Germany.
• Lead early‑stage evaluation including planning context, feasibility, underwriting and commercial assessment.
• Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to progress opportunities efficiently.
• Build and maintain a strong local network across landowners, municipalities, advisors, brokers and developers to source, review and advance opportunities aligned with the platform’s strategy through direct relationships and origination.
• Support transaction execution, business planning and investment committee materials.
• Take ownership of opportunities from identification through to capitalisation and handover into delivery.
• Monitor market activity and contribute to the ongoing development of investment priorities.

The Individual

• Strong experience across real estate investment, development or investment‑led development, typically gained over 8‑15 years.
• Deep local market exposure within Hamburg and Northern Germany, ideally across residential, mixed‑use or regeneration‑led opportunities, with an established network and strong local credibility.
• Strong commercial judgement with the ability to assess planning, risk, feasibility and value creation.
• Proven ability to source land and real estate opportunities through strong market relationships and local connectivity.
• Comfortable operating in a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial environment and communicating with senior stakeholders and partners.
• Fluent in English and German.
