Position Overview:

BAE Systems is seeking a Paralegal to join its Naval Ships In‑House Legal Team. This role involves supporting commercial contracting, compliance, and data protection matters within a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment. The position offers exposure to complex legal work tied to cutting‑edge engineering and defence programmes.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Drafting, reviewing, and revising a wide range of commercial contracts
Supporting contract negotiations under solicitor supervision
Handling data protection tasks, including responses to data subject access requests
Implementing and maintaining internal compliance policies and procedures
Developing and updating contract templates and guidance materials
Conducting legal research and presenting findings to legal and business stakeholders

Eligibility:

Law degree, GDL, or CILEX qualification (English or Scottish law)
Experience in paralegal work or commercial contracting with knowledge of contract law
Familiarity with compliance procedures and policies
Experience in data protection (preferred)
Exposure to defence or regulated environments (advantageous)
Strong analytical, drafting, and communication skills
