Mechanical Engineer, Weller

As a Mechanical Engineer in R&D, you will design and refine mechanical systems for hand soldering products, with a focus on plastic parts and integration into full assemblies. You’ll drive concepts from idea to production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate product features into technical requirements. Your work on tests, documentation, and supplier alignment supports robust, manufacturable solutions in a global electronics tools brand. • Design, develop and implement mechanical systems with a focus on plastic components for soldering products
• Define and execute tests, experiments, and validations at component, subassembly, and system levels
• Maintain material master data, drawings, BOMs, and engineering changes in SAP
• Support release and approval processes, change management (ECR/ECN), inspection/test plans, and technical documentation
• Develop and implement manufacturing test plans for mechanical subassemblies
• Collaborate with product management to translate design features into technical requirements
• Align technical requirements with external development partners and suppliers

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics (ideally with plastics focus)
• Experience in injection molded plastic parts and mechanical assemblies
• Basic understanding of machining principles
• Experience with 3D CAD (Creo 6.0 or higher)
• Solid SAP experience (material master data, BOMs, change management)
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes
• Fluent in German and English
