Associate Mechanical Design Engineer - Frankfurt, Germany

Overview

In this role you will lead mechanical design projects from FR Frankfurt office, coordinating multi-disciplinary services to deliver low-energy, compliant building solutions. You’ll drive project delivery, manage client interfaces, and mentor junior staff within a global consultancy. You’ll work on feasibility, design development, and compliance while supporting the RED project delivery process. This is a chance to shape high-impact, sustainable building projects for a growing international practice.

Verantwortungsbereiche
  • Lead major projects and manage project services coordination for mechanical/electrical installations
  • Perform cost/fee diagnosis, feasibility studies and bid preparation
  • Adjust schedules and track status based on project needs and stakeholder input
  • Prepare management and client reports
  • Develop specifications for controls and operating systems for building services
  • Survey and report on existing installations
  • Ensure drawings and calculations meet standards and customer requirements
  • Represent the company at technical meetings with clients and teams
  • Monitor risk and performance through internal controls
  • Coordinate engineering services and integrate engineering concepts
  • Support project delivery per RED processes (PM, QA/QC, financial management)
Zentrale Anforderungen
  • BSc/BEng in appropriate engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Chartered Eng status
  • Fluent German; English professional working proficiency
  • Significant experience in specification design for diverse building types
  • Knowledge of health and safety issues and legislation
  • Understanding of contract and business law
  • Proficiency with MS Office and calculation/spreadsheet software
  • Knowledge of standards (BS, international, German)
  • Experience with invoicing and credit control
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Leadership and mentoring skills; presentation and facilitation abilities
  • Background in consulting or construction; understanding of international operations
