Middleware Systems Engineer

Okatim is looking for a Middleware Systems Engineer for one of our clients in the defense sector.

The role involves designing, developing and maintaining systems that allow different computers, devices and applications to communicate with each other in a fast, reliable and synchronized way.

The engineer will mainly work with distributed systems and communication technologies such as TCP, UDP, QUIC, multicast and DDS/RTPS. The goal is to ensure that different system components can exchange information correctly, while managing aspects such as latency, synchronization and data distribution.

The role also involves keeping different systems coordinated and consistent, particularly for real-time and mission-critical applications where information needs to be delivered correctly and within defined time limits.

The engineer will work closely with Software, Hardware, Systems and Integration Engineers, and will investigate and resolve issues across different levels of the system, from the application and middleware to the network and hardware.

This is a hybrid (on site/homeoffice) position, based in Munich.
