In Energy and Natural Resources, you will apply economic approaches from the fields of competition and regulatory economics, finance, energy economics, auction theory and econometrics to the burning questions of the energy and transport transition.

Our mandates include, for example, the preparation and critical review of economic expert opinions in court and arbitration proceedings, the design of subsidy systems and tenders for renewable energies, e-mobility and hydrogen, and regulatory and strategic advice on major infrastructure investments.

Responsibilities

• You will actively participate in the design of studies, expert opinions and presentations, from the conception and implementation of economic analyses to the documentation and presentation of the results
• Research, quantitative investigation and analysis of company, industry and market data, including statistical instruments
• Close cooperation with colleagues and clients as well as clear communication of complex economic issues

Your profile

• You will have a very good university degree (Master’s degree, doctorate) in economics or a related discipline
• Strong oral and written communication skills in German and English, with other language skills being an advantage
• High degree of reliability, motivation, sense of responsibility and ability to work in a team
• Intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, precise and solution-oriented way of working and the ability to familiarise yourself with unknown questions
• First‑hand experience in applied economic research

Im Bereich „Energie & Infrastruktur“ wenden Sie ökonomische Ansätze aus den Bereichen Wettbewerbs‑ und Regulierungsökonomie, Finance, Energiewirtschaft, Auktionstheorie und Ökonometrie auf die brennenden Fragen der Energie‑ und Verkehrswende an

Unsere Mandate umfassen z.B. die Erstellung und kritische Prüfung von wirtschaftlichen Sachverständigengutachten in Gerichts‑ und Schiedsverfahren, das Design von Fördersystemen und Ausschreibungen für Erneuerbare Energien, E‑Mobilität und Wasserstoff und die regulatorische und strategische Beratung bei großen Infrastrukturinvestitionen.

Ihre zukünftigen Aufgaben

• Aktive Mitgestaltung von Studien, Gutachten und Präsentationen, von der Konzeption über die Durchführung ökonomischer Analysen bis hin zur Dokumentation und Präsentation der Ergebnisse
• Recherche, quantitative Untersuchung und Analyse von Unternehmens-, Branchen- und Marktdaten, u.a. anhand statistischer Instrumente
• Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Kollegen und Kunden sowie klare Kommunikation komplexer ökonomischer Sachverhalte

Ihr Profil

• Sehr guter Hochschulabschluss (Master, Promotion) in Volkswirtschaftslehre oder einer verwandten Disziplin
• Ausgeprägte mündliche und schriftliche Kommunikationsfähigkeiten auf Deutsch und Englisch, weitere Sprachkenntnisse sind von Vorteil
• Hohes Maß an Zuverlässigkeit, Motivation, Verantwortungsbewusstsein und Teamfähigkeit
• Intellektuelle Neugier, kritisches Denkvermögen, präzise und lösungsorientierte Arbeitsweise sowie die Fähigkeit, sich in unbekannte Fragestellungen einzuarbeiten
• Erste Erfahrungen in der angewandten Wirtschaftsforschung
