Principal SoC Architect (f/m/div)

As Principal SoC Architect on Infineon’s R&D team, you will shape System-on-Chip architectures balancing performance, efficiency, cost, and safety. You will define differentiating power management IP components and integrate standard blocks, while building architectural models and virtual prototypes. You will develop digital power control algorithms using AI-driven design methods and collaborate with cross-functional experts to deliver impactful solutions. This role supports Infineon’s mission to enable green, secure, and connected energy and IoT solutions, offering the chance to influence technology at scale.

• Define requirements and specifications for SoC architectures balancing performance, efficiency, cost, and safety
• Define differentiating power management IP components and select/integrate standard IP blocks (CPU, memory, interfaces)
• Build and maintain architectural models and virtual prototypes
• Develop and implement digital power control and management algorithms using AI-driven design methodologies
• Collaborate with internal and external experts (application, analog, digital, mixed-signal, software) and management

• A degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, Physics, or related field
• At least 5 years of professional experience in SoC architecture and concept engineering, digital or mixed-signal design and verification, and embedded microcontroller systems
• Experience in digital power conversion topologies (PFC, FB, LLC), digital signal processing, and control theory
• Experience with digital power control algorithms and techniques
• Passion for technology and willingness to take initiative
• Strong system-level thinking and analytical skills
• Openness to applying advanced methodologies (e.g., agentic AI) and learning about new applications
• Very good communication skills to collaborate with team members, experts, and management
• Fluent English; German language skills are a plus
